Temporary Defeat Is Not Failure

It is true that we all face problems in our home based business. Sometimes something doesn’t quite go right or we don’t get the results we were expecting. However, it is important to take heed of what The NEW Think And Grow Rich says in such circumstances… Temporary defeat is not failure.Remember these words; “when your plans fail, that temporary defeat is not permanent failure. It may only mean that your plans have not been sound. Build other plans. Start all over again.”

The book teaches us that Thomas A. Edison failed ten thousand times before he perfected the incandescent light bulb. Ten thousand times! Edison saw this as having found 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb. He didn’t give up; he knew it could be achieved. How far will you go to achieving your goals? Are you resilient to bounce back with confidence from these “failures”?

He recognised that each failure was a temporary defeat and went back to the drawing board and amended his plan. He believed that organized planning backed by his persistence to succeed would result in success. And of course he was correct.

This principle is key to the success of your home based business and one that you should adopt. Organized planning is vital… we know that but we now also know that a failure of some kind is not permanent, it just means that your plan is incomplete in some way. Re-address it and start again.

The important thing is not to quit at the first sign of failure. Too many people go through life unhappy with their lot in life because they treat their first failure as a permanent one. The “well I gave it a shot and it didn’t work for me so I’ll go back to what I was doing” attitude is too prevalent amongst the human race. Many of the world’s greats, Henry Ford, Thomas A. Edison, etc. would not have built their fortunes if they adopted a similar attitude.
